How we review

1. Official specs. We start from the manufacturer's data for each model.
2. Refurbished context. We look at what matters most when a device has had a previous life: battery, updates left and common issues to check.
3. Ratings. We score camera, battery, performance and lifespan from 1 to 5 relative to the category and the usual price, not against the most expensive new models.
4. New vs refurbished. For every model we show the UK launch price and an example refurbished price, so you can see the saving at a glance.
